Autumn Olive or Russian Olive trees are beautiful, fragrant trees with delicious and nutritious berries. They are also a highly invasive species. They crowd out native plants making the land unusable for other plants, animals and humans.
Defend our beautiful ceremonial native trees and plants (and to give beauty to the land that nourishes us so wonderfully) by joining the Russian Olive Removal Party on the Michigan Ceremonial Land.
Things to bring:
Chain Saws

Hand Loppers

What to wear:
It is recommended you wear heavy duty long-sleeved shirts and long pants. Autumn Olives have thick sharp thorns that can easily pierce and snag thin clothing.

We will finish our day with a community potluck and share in our success. Let me know if you have any food allergies or intolerances. Bring your favorite beverages for self and sharing!
There are housing/camping options if you’d like to arrive Friday night to work Saturday on the Ceremonial Land Work Day and/or spend the night Saturday after working. Please let me know if you are interested so arrangements can be made.
